Most garage shelving content either lists products without explaining specs, or gives generic advice that ignores the one number that matters most: per-shelf load rating, not total unit capacity.
A unit rated at 2,000 lbs total might have shelves rated at only 200 lbs each. If you're stacking car parts or tool boxes, that distinction is the difference between a functional storage system and a collapse waiting to happen.
