Battery charger content defaults to "top picks" lists that tell you nothing about why one amperage or chemistry setting matters. A 10-amp charger and a 2-amp maintainer are different tools for different jobs — buying the wrong one can damage your battery.

Charging an AGM battery with a charger set for flooded lead-acid chemistry can overcharge it. Trickle-charging a lithium battery with a lead-acid charger can permanently damage it.
