Why this page exists
Comic book collecting content online is dominated by dealer sites that grade loosely and price aggressively, or fan sites that care about story over condition. Neither helps you evaluate a specific book against its CGC population data or understand what "restored" actually means for resale value.
A CGC 9.8 copy of a Silver Age key and a raw copy of the same issue may differ by thousands of dollars. The grade — and whether the book has hidden restoration — is the entire variable. This page explains how to read that variable.

Vintage comic book lot
Mixed-era lots can surface raw keys at below-slab prices. Sort by newly listed and check for Silver/Bronze Age issues before bidding on bulk.
Silver Age comic book
1956–1970 Marvel/DC first appearances. Condition grades drop fast for raw copies — expect mid-grade (4.0–7.0) on most unslabbed books offered here.
CGC graded comic
Professionally slabbed books with encapsulated grade labels. Verify the CGC cert number against cgccomics.com census before purchasing — cert fraud exists.
Bronze Age key comic
1970–1985 first appearances and high-print-run run keys. Higher raw grade survivability than Silver Age — 8.0+ raw copies are findable with patience.
Vintage Marvel comic
Marvel Silver/Bronze keys anchor most collector buying. Fantastic Four #1, Amazing Fantasy #15, and X-Men first appearances dominate high-end searches.
