Compound bow content online is dominated by manufacturer marketing and pro-staff reviews where every bow is rated 5 stars. The specs that actually determine whether a bow fits your body and use case rarely appear plainly stated.
Draw length is not adjustable after the fact on most setups — a bow that doesn't fit your draw length will cause grip torque, inconsistent anchor, and poor groups. Knowing how to measure your draw length and match it to a bow's adjustment range before buying matters more than which cam system a pro-staffer prefers.

Hoyt RX-7 compound bow
Hoyt's flagship hunting bow. Carbon RX series uses PCII carbon riser for reduced weight without sacrificing riser stiffness. 6" brace height; IBO speed ratings typically in the 335–340 fps range. Verify year and draw range before buying used.
Mathews V3X compound bow
Mathews' single-cam design in the V3 series. 6" brace height version balances speed and forgiveness. AVS (Adjustable Valley System) lets the shooter tune back-wall feel. Known for quiet shot cycle.
PSE Drive NXT
PSE's value-tier hunting bow. Wide draw length adjustment range (typically 24.5"–30") makes it a flexible option for different shooters. Heavier than flagship options, but price point reflects that tradeoff directly.
Bowtech Solution compound
Bowtech's Deadlock cam technology locks the cam in a fixed position for repeatable nock travel. The Solution series targets the forgiveness-oriented hunting market rather than maximum IBO speed.
Elite Ritual compound bow
Elite Archery's Ritual targets the target-archery-crossover market — 7" brace height for maximum forgiveness, smooth draw cycle. Less common on the used market than Hoyt/Mathews but worth attention if you prioritize smooth draw feel over speed.
