Why this page exists
Most clay shooting content online is either beginner walk-throughs or manufacturer marketing. Neither answers the question a shooter who is already breaking 70% of targets is actually asking: what specific decision is costing me the other 30%?
The choke and gun fit guides here are built from the technical mechanics — constriction geometry, pattern density math, comb height physics — not from "what the pros use." The pros have custom guns and professional fitters. These guides are for the rest of us who shoot production guns and need to understand what to adjust and why.

Over-under shotguns (Beretta / Browning)The Beretta A300/A400 series and Browning Citori are the most common production O/Us at club level. Both have solid choke tube compatibility and reasonable stock dimensions.
Krieghoff K-80The K-80 is what a significant share of top-level sporting and trap shooters use. Expensive, but adjustable stock options and mechanical reliability are the reason. Worth understanding used prices.

Briley / Carlson choke tubesBriley extended chokes and Carlson's tubes are the two aftermarket brands most commonly recommended at club level. Extended chokes are easier to swap between stations without a wrench.
