Skateboard deck (8.0β8.5 inch)8.0 is the most common street/park width. Powell Peralta, Santa Cruz, and Real are the established brands. Don't cheap out on decks β bad maple flexes and pops badly.
Independent Stage 11 trucksIndependent Stage 11 is the benchmark truck for most skaters. Ace 55 and Thunder 148 are the main alternatives. Match truck width to deck width.
Spitfire or Bones wheels52mm 99-101a is the standard street wheel. Spitfire Formula Four and Bones STF don't flat-spot. Softer wheels (83β87a) for rough pavement.
Bones Reds bearingsBones Reds are the default bearing recommendation β reliable, affordable, widely available. ABEC-9 marketing is mostly noise; hardness and tolerance matter more.
Skate shoes (vulc sole)Vans Old Skool and Etnies Marana are the two most-recommended vulcanized soles. Cupsole is more protective; vulc has better board feel.
