Guides
Inspection and sizing guides for used road bike buyers ā what the frame material means, how to read a groupset, and the fit measurements that matter.
Why this page exists
Used road bike listings range from excellent value to expensive problems. The same bike model in the same size can be a good buy at one price and a bad buy at another, depending on frame condition, component wear, and whether the size matches your body. Most buying guides stop at "check for cracks" and "test ride it."
This page goes further: how to identify frame materials from photographs and in-person, what groupset components show wear first and how to assess it, and the specific body measurements that predict whether a given frame size will fit before you make a trip to see it.
