Carburetor rebuild kitBriggs & Stratton and Tecumseh carbs are the most common. A rebuild kit (jets, needle, float, gaskets) costs $8-15 and fixes 80% of no-start issues.
Compression testerA compression tester confirms if a no-start is fuel, spark, or mechanical. 90 PSI is the minimum for most small 4-stroke engines.
Spark plug socket set5/8-inch and 3/4-inch cover almost all small engine plugs. A magnetic socket holds the plug for thread-start in tight engine compartments.
Fuel line and primer bulb kitFuel line hardens and cracks after 2-3 seasons. Universal 3/32 and 1/8 inch ID line covers most chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers. Replace primer bulb at the same time.
Ignition coil (universal)A failing coil causes intermittent or no spark. Aftermarket coils from Rotary or Oregon work reliably on most Briggs, Tecumseh, and Kawasaki engines.
