Real tools. Real evidence. Real help.

ShopToDoGood is a network of small, focused websites for hobbies, crafts, and trades. Each one carries practical calculators that do real math, gear recommendations grounded in what actually works, and articles cited to primary sources. Built by Dan Cohen in Wilmington, Delaware, with help from carefully orchestrated AI workers under a strict rule: cite-or-refuse. No fabrication, no manufactured testimonials, no fake urgency.

What we produce

Why we exist

Hobby content online has been hollowed out by AI-generated junk, affiliate spam, and SEO-game articles that don't help. Most "best of" lists are just whatever paid the highest commission rate that month. Most calculators are broken or wrong. Most articles are padded to a word count with nothing worth reading in them.

We write for the person who actually does the thing. The calculator works because the math is real. The article respects your time because we don't pad for word count. One person plus AI workers under strict cite-or-refuse rules can outwork five SEO mills and produce something honest. That's the test.

How the site stays free — and funds charity

We don't charge for anything. No paywalls, no email-gates, no "premium tier."

Every gear section links to retailers — eBay, Amazon, Walmart — for what we mention. When someone clicks through and buys, the store sends us a small commission. The price is the same for you; their affiliate program pays us from their cut, not yours.

90% of that commission is held for the charity you pick; we keep 10% to run the site. The full, binding breakdown is on the 90% commitment page, and every forwarded donation is published on the public ledger.

The honest ask: If a calculator or article saved you time, and you're already going to buy gear anyway — pick a cause and click through one of our links. You pay nothing extra, and 90% of what the store pays us goes to your charity. That's the whole arrangement.
