Compound bowA starter compound package (bow + sight + rest + quiver) makes more sense than building piece by piece.
Recurve bow (takedown)Takedown recurves are the sensible first bow for most people. The limbs are replaceable as you improve.
Carbon arrows (dozen)Spine rating has to match your draw weight. A dozen 400-spine carbons covers most 30–50lb setups.
Archery target (foam block)Foam block targets stop field points cleanly and pull arrows without damage. 18" or 24" block is standard.
